KTCT College of Arts and Science, Department of economics offers UG and PG programmes in Economics.

UG in Economics (CBCSS)is a three-year (six semesters)undergraduate degree curriculum for students who aspire to excel in banking, finance, and other significant business sectors.

The complimentary subjects offered are Political science and History. Department of economics enables our students to various areas of economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, international economics, financial economics, Indian economy, Kerala economy and public economics.

The teaching methodology combines standard methods of university education-lecture and tutorials-with written assignments, project work, field trips and student’s presentation in the class.

All activities of the department are aimed at encouraging the students to explore beyond the frontiers of the prescribed syllabus, evaluate economic issues using the skills and tools acquired both inside and outside the classroom and interact with experts from diverse area of specialization.

We motivate students to embrace new academic challenges to form their critical thinking skills and enhance their competitive advantage in the job market.

PG programme in Economics, a 2 year couse with 4 semesters, offers analytical insights as well as practical applications to enhance research skills, employability and productive capacity of the students. And also equips them with a high level of mathematical, statistical and analytical skills. They learn to analyze and interpret economic data, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The learning environment is enhanced by using both conventional and technology driven teaching methods to prepare the students for an optimistic and aspiring future. Thereby they can pursue a wide range of career paths in both public and private sectors such as banking and finance, consulting firms, government agencies, non-profit organizations, insurance companies, investment firms, academic institutions, and more.
